Admissions
Admissions
arrangements may be made by the resident, the family, a hospital
social worker or personal physician. A member of our staff will
meet with prospective residents and/ or representatives to gather
information needed for admission. Our office manager, Vicki Mook,
has been helping residents and their families for the past 34 years
and will explain the different financial options that are available.

Social
Services
Heather
Mertens , our social worker, joined our team in 2007. Prior to
her coming to Greenway, she was the social worker of a nursing
home in the Madison area. Heather and her husband Mike along
with their two children live in the Spring Green area.
Heather
will help the resident and family with moving in, getting settled
and making plans for their stay here. Heather will try to arrange
for a compatible roommate and will be available to explore any
concerns of feelings with the resident and family members.
Hether will
conduct an admission interview and will explain policies and
procedures. A social history will be obtained upon admission.
Residents will be informed of the Residents Bill of
Rights and will be asked to sign admission forms.

Medical
Care
Katie
Peper , our Director of Nurses, was a staff nurse for
Greenway for 10 years prior to her becoming our DON in 2003.
Katie, her husband Brian and their two children operate a dairy
farm near Loganville. Most of Katie’s professional career
has been with Greenway Manor and we feel very fortunate having
her in charge of our nursing department.
Registered
nurses and licensed practical nurses are on duty 24 hours
a day to carry out your physicians orders. They will
administer medications ,treatments, take daily checks and
readings, and report any change in the residents condition
to their physician. We normally
schedule three nurses on our day shift, two nurses on our
evening shift and one nurse on our night shift. On weekends
we schedule two nurses on our day shift.
Greenway
also has certified nursing assistants who are trained to
meet the many personal needs of each resident. We normally
schedule 6 to 7 certified nursing assistants on our day and
evening shifts and 3 certified nursing assistants on our
night shift. The exact number of staff who are scheduled
normally depends on how many residents are residing in the
facility at a given time.

Therapy
Greenway Manor
opened a new Rehabilitation Center in 1996, It is very spacious
and fully equipped. The Physical and Occupational therapists provide
services on a daily basis and speech therapy is available on a as
needed basis.
Residents who may have suffered a stroke and or may have had hip
or knee surgery would benefit from our Rehab department and normally
Medicare or private insurance will cover much of the cost.

Food
Services
The dietary
staff will provide delicious and nutritional meals and can accommodate
any special diet your physician may order. Every effort will be
made to honor individual preferences within the prescribed dietary
limits of the physicians orders. Greenways Certified
Dietary Manager, Debbie Wilson, has been directing the food service
department for the past 30 years. Debbie is a certified dietary
manager and is past president of the Wisconsin Dietary Managers
Association. In addition to Debbies expertise we also have
a registered dietitian that visits Greenway on a regular basis.
Debbie always meets with every resident to learn about personal
preferences and to explain any dietary restrictions. We also
encourage families to stop during a meal time and have lunch
or supper with their resident.
